Steering Our Thoughts
Sometimes it can be incredibly hard to block out narratives that do not serve us, especially when we see about 5’000 advertisements a day that try to sell us that our lives would be better with XYZ, essentially saying we are lacking or not good enough as we are. Our own trauma can lead us to less compassionate with others, quite frequently we as people project our own pain into each other, even though it’s no ones fault. We constantly have narratives and thoughts that we internalize that consistently drive our actions and lives, so it’s incredibly important to make sure that the narratives and thoughts are ones that will help us grow, evolve, help us love ourselves more, and help us love the people around us more. And yes we may not be able to control every thought or narrative that enters our environment, but we can help to steer them into directions that better serve us as well as the people around us.
